Illustrator Thoughts

In the spring semester, we began to learn about the fundamentals of Adobe Illustrator. Over a brief period of time, we finished assignments and learned about creating shapes, direct selection, pen tool, fill and stroke, type tool, pathfinder and the final recreate the penguin assignment. For the creating shapes part of the project, you would press the shape button and choose the shape you desired. In addition to that, you could change the size of the shape or color to what you desire. For the pen tool part of the project, you would select the pen tool button and trace it as accurately as possible. It would create paths for you. If you clicked and drag it, you could also create curved paths. This would allow you to create some unique shapes that the shape tool would not allow you to create. For the type tool part of the project, you could use letters and customize them to what you desired. You could change the font, size of the letters, etc. For the fill and stroke tool, you could add color to the exterior or interior of an object. The tools that I mentioned were relatively easy to use. However, the most difficult part of this entire project was to recreate the penguin assignment for obvious reasons. Using all the things we learned in one assignment made it significantly harder for me at least. In addition to that, I tried to be as accurate as possible tried which made me take significantly longer to recreate the penguin. These tools were just the beginning of my journey of learning Adobe Illustrator and I hope to learn more about this program.
