Expressive Words

Image
The expressive words project was one of the easier projects in my opinion. I really enjoyed manipulating the words in my project until I was content.  For the first part of my project, the first word that I chose for this project is the word donut. I decided to turn the letter o and turn it into a donut by putting another o inside the o.  For the second part of my project, I decided to choose the word animal. The first two letters and the last letter of the animal stayed the same, so I can change the rest of the letters while still being able to understand what the word is. Then the letter I got turned upside down into the ! sign. The  m was actually ^ grouped together with another ^ in order for it to look like an m. For the final a in the word animal, I decided to just use the @ symbol.   For the third part of my project, I decided to choose the word stretch. For this word, obviously, I stretched out the letters as far as I possibly could.  For the fourth part...

Gesalt Letters

This project was one of the harder projects for me to complete. I struggled to understand what was being taught. The links were not much help, at least for me. The images that Google offered me made finishing this project simpler. I understand how to do similarity and closure parts of the project.  However, the parts of the project that were more difficult were proximity, continuity and figure/g round. For the three difficult parts of the project that I just mentioned, I had to do some external research in order to somewhat grasp what I originally looked at in the three links that were give n to me at the start of this project. Even with the external research, I still do not completely understand.  For the similarity part of the project, I decided to make a bunch of text on the top and the bottom of the screen in order for the bigger letters to look more similar to each other.  For the closure part of this project, I realized that I could just use the erase tool. I could ...

Block Set Type

Image
The three block sets that I created after Mr. Hadels block set demo was slightly harder for me and therefore took me significantly longer for me to finish. I had some issues with the words that I chose. The six words that I chose for my three block sets were School, Study, Pass, Struggle, Sleep and Repeat. The reason why I chose these six words is that these six words resonate with my daily life. Despite having some longer words, pass and repeat consistently made it hard to space the words so they fit in the middle of the page. I would have to make some of the other words smaller in order to make the words fit, which, overall, made my work a lot messier than I wish it could have been. In addition to these issues that I had, I was told right as I thought that I had finished my block sets, that all three of my block sets had to be the same words. This, again, made me take even longer than it should have taken me to finish the three block sets. Despite all the problems that happened while...

Illustrator Thoughts

In the spring semester, we began to learn about the fundamentals of Adobe Illustrator. Over a brief period of time, we finished assignments and learned about creating shapes, direct selection, pen tool, fill and stroke, type tool, pathfinder and the final recreate the penguin assignment. For the creating shapes part of the project, you would press the shape button and choose the shape you desired. In addition to that, you could change the size of the shape or color to what you desire. For the pen tool part of the project, you would select the pen tool button and trace it as accurately as possible. It would create paths for you. If you clicked and drag it, you could also create curved paths. This would allow you to create some unique shapes that the shape tool would not allow you to create. For the type tool part of the project, you could use letters and customize them to what you desired. You could change the font, size of the letters, etc. For the fill and stroke tool, you could ...
